And so it creeps ever closer.

If the dollar starts tanking same time as there is deflation in US, woe to us (us being the world). Almost makes me wish I was Chinese.

Note to self, plant veggies today in garden, buy gun, hedge currency risk by opening portfolios in Euro's and Aud.

Dang, buy some gold to.

People who will money out of this are the traders who see it coming and gold owners.

I am not sure if any paper currencies with go thru it unharmed... EUR does not seem the best choice as basically it may go the same route as USD (when the cautious optimism evaportes).

Gold + silver -- seems a good choice

Plant veggies - yes.
Buy gun - (problem here in Poland) - but I started practising with air gun...

If I lived in Poland I'd have tank hidden somewhere - just in case...guess that's illegal too hey?

Sure, it may come handy. Though one need to think about the oil prices... they just do not want to drop again ;)

It'll drop....

In the 70's oil went to $0 at one point, couldn't give it away. Last year was at $30 - go big buy an Abraham's !!

Look I'm in the oil industry. I build pipelines or help to anyway. Almost no work out there. No one is building anything. Next up tick in demand there will be no supply as no extra capacity is being put in place. And this time China and India wants some oil as well.

So dollar sees it's arse, oil spikes as the dollar price of oil spikes, shortage due to high demand from east, parabolic oil like just before this crash...kadwang!! Big crash, no more money for bailouts, we all drive donkeys....no one wants oil, you got Abraham's and a full tank on the cheap.

The world is your oyster...

There will be problem in the when the oil price skyrockets before petrol goes dirt cheap - I guess I will just use the donkeys to pull the tank for a while, but later... sounds really good.

I wonder if it just us who are blowing it out of proportion or all others are plain blind...

Bit of both I guess. We're not very far away from 1928.

The dollar will see it's arse, no reason for it to be strong when 20 million Americans are on food stamps while the fed is printing dollars like toilet paper, that will send the dollar value of oil higher, which will cause inflation and slow growth down, inflationary - recession in one go...

I for one am working hard as I can to get my code going. Nice fully hedged portfolio do me just fine when the poop hits the fan. If it doesn't I can retire in peace and calmness and grow truffles or something.

The CEO of Total was on Tv saying by 2012 the first supply problems will be evident if we don't do something. And here I sit, not building anything.
