The issue is, there is no safe 4% :) Everything can happen. Must be on our toes at all times.

@optimofx , 😎 when working with a system which is based on martingale, one has sometime a problem, a big probem like magincal. , yes. :-)

Chikot, 😁 Well, What is really sure of is death. Not even at a bank, the money is safe. And what you get from a bank? That's why I trade CFD and FX. And my life depends not bad. :-)
You can with a good strategy in conjunction with the calculated safe money management some effect. 4% not every month, sometimes more, sometimes less. Seen on the year 4% in average.

@SherFsd
A war only wins, the money is enough to cause him and withstand.

With fx it's the same. With a small account you will lose.

Since you know more than me and pretend to know something you think? .... I do not know that I ever have my strategy published.
Of course you can not win every trade. you now and then loses. The trick is not to let it become a habit.

Trade is only money management in connection with strategy. Mental strength is set properly. 😎

And that's why many traders lose. And are therefore always looking, even on sites like here.

I am not interested in 4%. How much capital you need to have to make a living from 4%.
Strategy by itself is nothing. Why so many accounts are blown? Because no strategy works at all times.... but traders cannot take those periods that strategy is not working , start meddling with strategy or take more risk martingale as you say and so forth and blow. The truth is that markets are basically spasmatic and they change all the time but those changes are cyclical. Therefore to have long term success trader must be consistent but have limits to make sure during those bad times he loses as little as possible or even stay BE or a bit profitable . I can say I am quite sure about that, but it requires daily hard work. No strategy can be left alone . Performance must be monitored at all times and psychology is a king because it is traders who blow account with the best of strategies.

My grid can do 10% growth a year safely, but higher than that and the risk goes higher.

Hello all,

I just want to share my view on money/risk management.

What I see, is that you just do not follow main rules of investments, while they are simple and clear.

The first and main rule says - do not invest more, then you can afford to lose. It is just simplest rule, just imagine that the money you deposit is gone and you're gonna never see it again - what changes for you? And after that you understand and admit that depositing any money to any EA is a risk of losing this money. There are no guarantees, no plans, just history and promises.

The second rule says - do not keep all your eggs in one basket - and it is even simpler. When you ask for EA giving you stable profit of 4% per month, you're just going a wrong path... It's easy path, at a first glance, but it goes nowhere.

If you guyz are looking for passive income you got to work hard, you can't just set up EA and do nothing except counting your profit each month. You need to work hard every day to achieve that.

Now back to my favorite part - imagine Warren Buffett with his multi-billion portfolio... He splits it up to several parts, smallest one of which is dedicated for investment in foreign currencies. This part is split up again to several ones, each of which is dedicated for one specific currency, which he estimates as the profitable on to invest into. Each part then is split up again in several ones, which are invested under distinct specific strategies - long-term, mid-term, short-term.

And yes, Warren Buffet's idiot, as there is some EA, maybe it costs 1mil, but it gets you stable 4% per month :) And all you need is just set it up, you can do it on you own, without the need to ask and pay anything to anyone else :)

So this is my view - whenever you deposit money, is it to EA, or to personal trader, or maybe its PAMM - you risk it all. So first of all you decide you take it or not.

If you read till here - then you take it. Next step is creating your portfolio. There are much opportunities nowadays, there are HYIPs, PAMMs, EAs, Trade-Copiers etc. In every 'section' there are good ones and bad ones, and you need to do decent job to find good ones. And it won't be enough, you will have to do it again and again, as things are getting changed faster day after day. You need to estimate risks/gains for every choice and estimate which part of deposit would you dedicate(=risk) to each specific specific choice.

In the end you see that some rules you knew regarding trading are just dogmas and nothing more. Not more then 1-2-5% in one trade? Dogma. TP twice as SL? Dogma... You define the risk, and you deal with it.

And again, back to the topic, do not deposit all your money to one EA, even if it's Grail, create your portfolio and manage it! Add some aggressive investments to it, but keep an eye on them.

And if in the result you achieve to get 4% from your portfolio, then you can just sit back and enjoy your life! :)

After a year of trading a demo account and looking for a system that works for me, I have to say manual trading is the way to go. If you don't have time to manual trade stay out of Forex, instead put your money in a money market fund and relax knowing you'll gain 8-12% annually.

If you do start trading manually, knowing when you are wrong and getting out of a trade is the most important. You need to have solid entry and exit rules, and stick to them. Managing risk is by far the most important thing.

This is just one traders opinion, good luck to you.
There are 2 rules for being successful. Rule 1, never tell them everything you know.
