What factors should one consider when evaluating the reliability and effectiveness of trading signals?

If you referring to trading signals produced by your trading system, the key factors should involve your hit-rate( winning percentage) that's pre-determined through back-testing, and your position sizing will also play a big role in the reliability of the signal. Make sure to adhere to risk management also in order to keep what you've made.

If on the other hand you referring to paid trading signals from another trader or community, there is no factor to pre-determine the effectiveness or reliability until you actually try them out, because there is lack of authenticity among most people who sell signals, and these will not make you a consistently profitable trader, but you can make money but not consistently.

Hi @Ethanishere

A few key factors to take note such as low drawdown below 15%, moderate max drawdown below 40%, decent annual profit e.g. 20-50% per year and lastly long duration tracks record such as more than 12 months of verified performance.

Hi @Ethanishere

There are many signals platform and providers out there in the market that allow you to filter a strategy that fulfill such criteria, a classic example would be signalstart platform.

Do your own home work and due diligence before copying any strategies.

Hi @Ethanishere

Yeah, I totally understand where you are coming from. Everyone want to nail holygrail and make quick & big bucks within a short period of time.

However based on our experience, that would be a luck play instead of a skill play.

In reality a 30%-60% annual returns is an exceptional high returns vs S&P and many others financial products available in the market.

Nonetheless, winning less is better than losing.

I wish you the best and stay safe!

Evaluating their reliability is a crucial step for any trader. When considering the effectiveness of trading signals, there are several important factors to keep in mind:
Firstly, examine the track record of the signal provider. A consistent and transparent history of successful trades over a reasonable period can indicate the reliability of their signals.
Secondly, take the time to understand the strategy behind the signals. A provider who explains their approach and the indicators they use provides transparency and helps you better comprehend the methodology behind the signals.
For additional resources and insights, I recommend visiting infinityalgo They might provide valuable information to enhance your understanding of trading signals and strategies.
