ohh by the wway, I dont know if it matters, but I use Forexvps so I can Remote desktop from my Nokia phone from work :) works like charm,
This is possible with remote desktop in general. It has nothing to do with the vps service.

I have the 'MetaTrader VPS' with VirtualServers.com. I have had it for 3 months now, and so far so good. When I signed up, the price was 15 EUR/month, now it seems they have risen the price a bit. Their service has been very nice so far. I've called them a few times on the phone, and if you can manage with their Scottish dialect, it shouldn't be any problem. 😁
They have an SLA which guarantee 99.99% uptime, and they reply fast on email. I'm satisfied. 😁

Yes, they have had several problems recently; sudden server restarts, sometimes 10 minutes downtime. Last weekend, my VPS was down a few hours. Luckily it was during the weekend and not during weekdays. Due to my problems, they have given me 4 months credit, so my next payment is sometime in May/June.
Their phone support has changed from 24/7 to 8/5, but they answer on email 24/7.
Even though they have had these problems, I still keep up with them. One of the reasons are that the latency to my broker (FXPro) is only 5 ms.

Thanks for the confirmation and your reason to stay with them.

CNS has a latency of 1ms from their UK server to FXPro regards their page. What helps you 5ms latency when their server isn't up????????

well I'll add my 2 cents ... it's easy to run mt4 on linux with wine ... also with linux-ha you could setup a high availability system (when one server goes down (crashes, kernel panics (blue death screen on windows), gets hacked etc), the other takes over within 30 sec) ...
it's not easy but can be done ;;;;
also for those that want to make sure their MT4 is up ... you can have the script or EA written that listens on some TCP port and some test app that connects to it every 1 minute ... that way you will receive an SMS only if the system goes down

We are using https://fxsystemhosting.com which is a normal windows vps or dedicated server, not specific to mt4. We find this is better as it's just a normal windows box with no special fx software. Latency is low as it's in a large data center. We have bad experience with some fx specific vps do not want to name them.
I have been very happy with Commercial Network Services. I have used them for over a year and the only downtime has been for scheduled maintenance/ reboot on a Saturday. They have a help guide that gives step by step instructions on how to setup your account so that everything will reboot automatically (by running your software as a service) if the servier ever does go down.
I was very impressed at the end of last month when they sent out a rather long and detailed email describing particular problems that some customers of a certain broker were having because their MtT4 terminals were constantly disconnecting. They traced the problem back to the broker & their technology provider and went as far as to include the brokers responses in the email and warn customers to watch their accounts closely if they traded with this particular broker until the issue gets resolved.
It is this kind of understanding of forex traders needs that makes me a strong proponent of using a VPS that does market to forex traders.
