What does it mean when i'm told "Forex Markets Are In Range"

Hi ,

can someone explain to me clearly what it means when i'm told that the 'markets are in range' ?

This means that the price move in very tight level. As a technical definition it is called consolidation area which you can notice that both demand and supply are equal.

I believe it is when the market is moving sideways, like in a channell. Eg, they are rising and falling between a level of resistance and a level of of support and don't often go outside that. Often refered to a 'range bound' as oposed to a trending market that has higher highs or lower lows.
