My point is really the blip caused by that event is no different to the blip caused by any other event and for the most part is of no consequence. I stop trading on wide spreads because of costs issues, but other than that I pretty much ignore news events of any type, unless it's about a big insolvent bank. Now those I listen to...!!

I would start by throwing out the tax code and implement a very low flat tax. I would tax consumption and not earnings. I would kill all regulation and replace it by simply regulation that works. Another important factor your can't verify is if the trader is a professional trader or just a kid. I'm not saying you can't find young talent, however if the trader is still busy with school homework, it can distract him from trading which can lead to disastrous results.
