If you never made any profits with an ea then do not say its impossible to make money with an ea as this is not true, I've seen few professional traders saying the same but I strongly disagree with such opinions. One can make consistent profits with ea's for sure.

I agree. EA has many advantages, it has no emotions, it never sleeps and it executes the system exactly as it should.
Moreover if you have good trading systems which you perform manually it is easy to convert such system to EA.
If you dont have trading system then you should not trade at all. :)

Well actually Caesar 2.1 has the very similar monthly profit, max DD and even the date:-)
And it is the EA:-)

Yes but whats the systems ability to scale ? Do you have any Caesar account histories using 1 lot size ? I hear a lot of slippage using this system so it might only be good from small accounts where the broker is auto approving the trade and not sending it to the bank. There is nothing wrong with it, it just means it will never be an institutional level system that could make the real money and trade the real market. I suppose if you spread across a bunch of small brokers that bucket trades, it could do well for some time.

I am in this business and i can tell you there is no real retail ecn on mt4, and no brokers taking .01 directly to liquidity providers . NDD is just a way of saying our internal exposure is handled via automated clearing or matching offset, not a desk. And to be clear, the volume used to match internally or what was cleared, is the risk the broker took from your trade. After internal matching on the so called "ECN" if there is no match it sends to the top of the book via STP. This is why there is slippage on ECN setups when you trade larger. Perfectly normal and acceptable. So in truth, all retail ECNs are internal ECN( Matching micros with broker advantage/markup) then to stp when there is no one to offset to and the volume is large enough to make the LP trade cost efficient on the prime broker setup. There is nothing wrong with this and it provides good liquidity for retail which is the whole point.

And yes Caesar works the same on account with $90,000 and account with $100.
Great, can you show the mtfxbook link to a large account trading it ? I would invest in the system if i see it working in on a live account doing some size.

Anyway if you deny the very principle of ECN the discussion is over.

On what grounds? I happen to have worked for a prime broker's dealing desk, I know exactly how ECN and MT4 execution works, and I can tell you without a single deniable fact, that there is no such thing as ECN access through MT4... The reason? MT4 handles the quoting and trade confirmation in its own system- your trade never goes any further... ever... For starters, your size isnt even big enough to get a quote from the ECN (10k lot? 100k lot? Not on the ECN!) So your size gets pooled with the liquidity at the prime broker and will never even see pass through to the ECN... So I again restate: i can tell you there is no real retail ecn on mt4, and no brokers taking - WHILE your QUOTES may be from the ECN your trades are still very much being processed (almost no differently in fact) like that of a dealing desk... only with a "ECN" Mt4 account your never going to get the execution speeds and fills you would get from a dealing desk liquidity pool....

To clarify, im talking small trades. You can set up and internal ECN and set the bridge connected to MT4 to send directly to the pool, but this usually starts at 5-10 lots because the Liquidity providers 90% of the time are pricing 1 mil per tick and prime brokers charge large fees below 2 lots. In general 98% of the time small trades(under 5 sometimes less) are pooled in the back end to be matched off with another MT4 clients exposure before going to the bank if it even has to.

This broker only provides MT4 platform which is not a real ECN professional trading platform. That would end this discussion rather quickly. If the broker does not provide an ECN platform such as - https://www.spotware.com/ I would not consider real world trading conditions.

Here is some basic ECN information for MT4 use - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT4_ECN_Bridge - If the broker does not provide Market Depth plugin, the MT4 platform is NOT connected to ECN.

EAs can actually work, of course, but they are still just computer programs that need some human intervention from time to time, especially if an important news announcement is about to come out.

I am also using John's suggested EA.
It have filter which avoids trading before high risk events.
Of course it can't predict events which are not mention at economical calender, but at least it dramatically reduces DD and wrong entries...

It may not be able to predict events, but you can program your EA to 'shut off' when certain things occur. How about your EA shutting off or taking no orders once the spread becomes higher then a certain amount of pips. :) I've noticed that during normal market conditions, if your spread is typically say 2 pips, high impact news or unexpected news will spike your spread over 200% of the normal even for a fraction of a second. That would be enough for your EA to take no trade, or you can even use it to your advantage.
All in all EA's work, but the creators (us) don't factor in most of the market conditions which are put into place to cause EA's to fail.

No EA will work for long term, trust me better start learning to trade, make a realistic goals like 5% or 10% max monthly. Fallow me and get free trade setup make sure to use proper money management.

My EA target 10% per month and it will profitable during calendar events. It really like volatile pair like GBPJPY.
I think it will profitable during CHF crush which most of EA will fail and even manual if you are not on your desk. I think you should make EA that can survive in unexpected sudden moves events.

it is normally the amount of risk that we apply to our systems that cause failure. If all systems traded on 100k accounts with low leverage we'd all be fine in the long run with multiple trading theories.
