EA works great on demo account, not on real. How to modify settings?

I have an EA that I've been testing quite a bit on demo accounts. I've found a few sets that work well / very well, but when I put them on my real account, it either doesn't work, or works only half as well or less. I presume others have run into this same issue. How can I change the EA settings to compensate for the difference between demo and real accounts?

Why don't you ask the developers for help? Perhaps they know how to properly set up an adviser for a real account. Although, as for me, everything should be identical. What is on a demo account, what is on a real one.

Thanks for your response. I did send an email to them, and they replied back suggesting I use a trade copier, which I am in the process of doing.

Oh it is okay for EAs. Another proof you have fallen into the hands of unscrupulous traders who do not optimize their advisors. That is why I am against their use.

Mine is working fine on Live, it does make a difference on demo of course, however results are fine. check my account.

I believe so that the settings should work the same on a demo and a real account. Otherwise, it’s a waste, not advisor.

usually demo versus live should not be too far off, the only difference is that demo has no slippage while on the live account you should get some slippage due to market prices available and the connection speed to your mt4.

Anyways do a bit of troubleshooting
1. is the demo and live account from the same broker?
2. is the demo and live account exact same account type?
3. are you trading large lot sizes? because if you are real market will have larger slippage
4. did you hook the ea on the exact same timeframe?
5. if demo vs live entry is different means it is dependent on when you hook the ea to open orders, obviously it will have different results
