reputation is very important when it comes to trading fx. I would suggest to look at some of the reviews at forexpeacearmy.com. The most important thing to me is how the broker handles your withdrawal request. Trading cost is probably significant to short term traders , but really cannot place a material impact on longer term traders. It all comes down to which style you prefer.
Honestly, if you use MT4, probably everybody would have some sorts of slippage. But that is the part of the game. the most advertised broker is rarely the best. If you live in Canada, I would place canadian brokers high in my list.

I think by doing research on the internet you can easily find the best forex broker, before choosing a broker to take care of these things
- Reputation
- Ensure that your data security is guaranteed
- Good trade execution
- Consider trading tools, trading costs,trading style,trading platforms
- Quality of customer service
- Commissions, Dealing Spreads, and Other Costs

The point is: regulated brokers are mainly reputed Forex brokers since, they take care of their clients.
