hi peter, i see you're still doing very well!

would like to hear your view on the eurusd if possible.. i noticed you don't have any trades with eurusd - are you still unsure of the direction?

Hi Biz

I've posted some comments about US$ 'strength' in my blog https://peterfmsr.blogspot.com/ and although I feel that the upside potential for the Euro is good, it may be that there aren't enough big players ready to commit yet.

I have been favouring the Aussie simply because any weakness in the US$ has resulted in a few decent moves in that pair while the EUR has been sitting in quite a tight range. Plus, of course, the positive swap sticks the equivalent of several pips into the account as well. I've actually grown to prefer the Aussie for my style of trading as it seems to respect my S/R levels much better.

As the year progresses I expect I'll switch between the two pairs so I haven't given up on the EUR but at the end of the day it's all about making money and I find it easier to do this on the Aussie at the moment.

When the managed account goes live then I want to be sure I'm keeping risk to its absolute minimum for the clients' sake and this means finding the best pair to reflect my trading style.

yeah i see your point..there's really no point switching back to the eur if you're more comfortable with the aussie.

i too think that everyone still waiting for that someone to jump in and push the eur to each direction since it seems now it's just ranging.

so currently you're focusing on the aussie? i see in your account that you've traded 9 other currencies with average success.. do they not work well enough with your system? or are you just focusing 1-2 currencies at a time?

Time to sit back and put some clear thought into the upcoming trades on the EURUSD pair.

Hi Peter.

I've noticed you're trading a demo and a real account. What's the reason the performance is different? Are those 2 different trading systems?

Nope. The demo was set up to test different ideas based on what I'd learned about S/R and the position sizing was a bit more flexible (ie more trades on more pairs without too much concern about risk).

The live account is a long-term trade arena for me; no experimentation, just solid S/R with much bigger targets and stops. Not for the nervous out there. I only keep it online here as I can interrogate the stats easier on this site than trying to put an Excel file together. Plus the live account has been running longer with fewer stupid trades.

Well, I've bitten the bullet at last and I'm short EURUSD. Probably too late but think there is a chance of a run down to the next Support level. Video on the blob.

Welcome to the club 😄

I also think it's still a good entry, and in any case, you can still sell again at pullbacks. I just hope we're not wrong on this one and the trend did change.

What's driving me mad is I traded brilliantly at Support during the uptrend but haven't been able to bring myself to go short at Resistance during this downtrend. Yet when I look at my levels, both current and historical, I know how accurate those levels are and can see time after time how price works its way up and down from them.

Maybe I had TOO good a run going long and my old brain isn't agile enough to cope with the reversal. The other stupid thing is that I teach everyone to sell at Resistance and buy at Support, but be prepared for price to blow through these levels (that's what stops are for) but have found it hard to commit to contrarian trades. 😳

Yeah guys, these emotional roller coasters made me sick in the past when i traded my first 3 years manually. But the time wasn't wasted at all...

Yeah, this is one of the most important aspects a trader should know - always follow your system.

Peter, I think it's just a psychological limitation - you see the price doing one thing, while your system says otherwise; this will definitely makes you question your system and resulting in trades which you shouldn't have taken in the first place.

Looking at your performance, I can definetly say your sytem works, so do keep using it! 😉
