Hi Wackena,

Very nice gains! I've some queries though, there appears to be a change in the martingale exposure after the 28 Dec 2010 drawdown of -1,126 pips, whereupon on 17 Feb, 1 Mar, 11 Mar 2011, you allowed the SL to manifest at about -330 to -360 pips.

To close at a 1% gain for a -1,126 pip floating loss, the final martingale position would have been relatively huge. Will there be possible exposure to something like that again?

For this EA to be successful, it requires oscillatory up and down price moves. Loses are possible on extended trend with small or no oscillatory price movement. Extended trends on Yen symbols are not frequent, but do happen. To get caught in martingale trades in wrong direction is always a risk. So far, EA trade exit coding has prevented catastrophic loses.

Wow, today was a real test for the JPY-trading EA's, glad to see Bogie-MA-Gap-1 passing it! 😄

Woah, just checked back in, earlier comment was before the dip on the very same day, wasn't meant in any sarcastic way. Sorry to see it take the hit.

Hi Wackena,

I am running Bogie Bogie-MA-Gap-1 on live accounts.
I am very curious about what happened to your account, for the sake of safe trading.
Would you mind sharing your thought on how to avoid that?

Thanks!!

Hello,

Bogie-MA_Gap-1 can make good gains, but the money management of this version can leave account open to margin call loses. This is due to EA opening more trades than the free margin can cover. To protect against margin calls, this version, Bogie-MA_Gap-2, will only permit each trading symbol to open trades when sufficient Free Margin, to cover all trades, is available. The profit gain is slower, but EA is more secure.

This new version has been running on this fxbook account since May 23, 2011. I plan to release the new version, Bogie-MA_Gap-2, in July 2011.

Wackena, any reason your status indicator dropped off your https://www.bogie-enterprises.com/statements.html this morning? I know the markets were pretty crazy the last 12 hours.

It would be advantageous if you were to run this on a live account. If it's any good, it'll attract more investors. As it stands, I wouldn't go near this owing to it's instability and lack of solid performance data. It seems to be struggling with the current market conditions for some reason, which makes other EA's a better investment.
