Actually i´m using the MEAA automatic trading system from the LIT AG www.meta-trader-expert-advisor.com very sucessful on my real money account. Now i´m looking for a profitable second strategy for one more account. Does anybody know what is the main strategy behind the FGB? Only Trend Trading?

I would not say FGB is a trend trading EA, but rather a breakout EA. It seems to look for low volatility with a strong move (if you want to call this a breakout) that is in agreement with the short term momentum. This is just how I would observe it. So IMO the EA is not looking for trends but simply low volatility with a strong surge.

IMO, momentum strategies are the most trustworthy strategies over time. Martingales will always destroy an account. It may take 2-3 years but it will happen. I do wonder, however, if FGB is not over leveraging as 31% DD is too high for many big money traders.

the forex market is becoming more volatile as tends to happen in April through August (in general) as volume leaves the market. It will be interesting to see how FGB performs over this period.

Cheers

I think it is not so seasonal this time, rather fundamental, maybe now we are starting to move EURUSD again.

Hi all,

how do you handle the weekends? Do you close all trades on friday, or just turn the MT4 off, or do you do nothing at all?

Much thanks in advance!

Are they active? I had some glitches with licensing after applying the update.

Do you use the basic version.
And what settings you call default?

yes FGB has an advanced version that allows you to change and modify certain settings etc. Several people on this forum have modified the settings to improve the results.

I have attached the template for the 'Josep' settings for FGB. You need FGB advanced for it to work.

wow on first looks it is a nice ea, but on closer inspection it looks dangerous, and its profits are certainly not consistent, which would indicate to me that it is 'guessing' the market rather than trading a good system.

If someone has an improved version of this ea your input would be much appreciated. Please share your results on myfxbook so we can build a better version.

This ea looks promising, but there is obvious room for improvement.

you are right man, your automated accounts looks much better:D:D
it is not quessing but trading - profitability about 50-60% is normal, there is very important RRR too and this EA has got good RRR. There is definately space for improvement but this is good ea anyway

I'm using FXCM, though the trades and exits are nearly identical. There has only been like 8 or 9 trades in the last year that were different.

I have made a backtest of the FGB with the MT4 of the broker FxOpen but the results went so different up to point that in the same period, the backtest made with ThinkForex gave me more than 1000 dollars of profit and the backtest with FxOpen gave me near of 500 dollars of losses. I would like to know if to somebody else has happened the same.
The test period was from 2011-11-02 to 2012-05-04 with the default settings. Thank you to whom respond me.
