can you share a link to this ea? is it really another version of MDP logic?

I just came across d-diamond that seams to be using the same thing - https://www.myfxbook.com/community/trading-systems/d-diamond-mng-thinkforex2/204780,6#?pt=2&p=1&o=204780

I think it is forexthor.com but if that isn't right, you can check the main thread because Alexander posted earlier.

I have verified that it is NOT the same logic as MDP. The people claiming that had no experience with the EA and were making those claims based on pure speculation and circumstantial evidence. That topic is also discussed in the thread.

Anyway....i have tested the crap out of MDP and Thor and compared trades. Sometimes they trade during the same times....sometimes they trade when the other is non-active.

Today, is a great example. MDP did it's thing. Thor also traded. Some of the trades happened during the same spike that triggered MDP, but other trades happened much later too. The clincher is, the same core logic initiated all the trades, which proves that it is not using the same logic.

After seeing it trade....I am willing to say, if you have had good results with MDP, then you may consider opening a second account and putting Thor in it.

sure. thanks for sharing. any spike outside bollinger bands can be handled many ways, or even the size of the spike for that matter.

hi fughe, i brought thor on the 20/12/2011 and have set it up on a demo account as i was a bit sceptical about it. I have been reading your posts on this site this morning and was wondering if you have had any more than the 3 trades that are on your profile, i have had the same or very very similiar trades on mine. What are the vps issues you have been having? i have had no issues with my computer

Cheers

No new trades. I don't know if Thor would have traded on Wednesday because it had locked up my VPS and kept ALL of my EAs from trading.

The issue is a memory leak that Thor has. That is all I know at the time.

Well, I am not the one you should be asking. I am having problems with the memory leak, and so far, have had a losing streak with Thor. There are others on here who are not having these issues.

For me it was 2 trade:

0.4 pips
5.2 pips

The first was loss due to the Broker commission, but with the second, in overall was profitable.

Hello, regarding Your last trade:

EURUSD Buy 0.18 1.31741 1.31911 1.31678 1.31740 6.2 1.12

If You had +6,2 pips and the size of 0.18 lots why the profit is only: +1.12 USD ?

It is a penny account. To get the accurate lot size, divide by 10. The dollar amount gained is correct.

Nope. It is a good system. It has managed to be profitable in market conditions that have been HIGHLY unfavorable to trade it in. I am looking forward to when the market starts moving again to see this thing shine.

Hi fughe,

I refunded Thor back in December, due to the 'memory leak' problem that didn't seem to be getting fixed any time soon. Has that been resolved now? Do you still think Thor is worth the money? By looking at your stats, Thor doesn't seem to trade very often... Thanks!

Well, I see it this way. December and January were slow months, so volatility bots like MDP and Thor didn't have many trades triggered. The only way to really know how Thor will do is to wait 6 months and check back on my live account and see if it is still in profit. Plus....i am not so much worried about how fast the EA build my account. I am mostly interested in an EA that builds my account with minimal DD. MDP is very rapid, but as many people have experienced, the loss can be severe in a matter of seconds. So far, Thor has not shown any severe DD. I don't expect it will either.

i know that may not help very much, but this may. Thor is one of the few EAs i allow to trade real money. When I say few, I mean 5. I don't have a top 10, I have a top 5. The rest are good in concept, but have problems I am either not willing to deal with, or I am not rich enough to allow them to run on my account in hopes that they recover from the DD that they would occur.

Hope that helps!

Ok, thanks for the info. But what about the 'memory leak'? Have you had any further problems with that, or has it been completely fixed? Thanks.
