How do I know if FGB has lost control of a trade? is there someway I can find out?

what do you mean by lost control on trade ?
just remember one thing when the trade is open try not to restart or close the MT4 other, you can then lost control on your open trade.
It might close the order no matter is in plus or minus.

thats why FGB recommended to use VPS server. If you can give FGB 24/7 internet connection/power then its ok.

i suggest to use the trade protector ea which sets 50 pips sl to each trade... so you don't have to be worried that your vps will crash or the ea can't close the trades because of requotes

On my experimets, after trying MANY EA´s, this is one of the best... at least so far!

I suggest: look the live history of FGB and let FGB do it owen works with default settings... prepare some lost trade and some drawdown as on history shows... look one or two months and then make your deciison to follow or drop out!

I think you can realize if FGB lost the control of a trade because in the forexgrowthbot information label it says zero while you still have opened orders

what is the trade protector ea that you are using? how long have you been using it and has it made a difference? what settings do you use? I heard Compuforex Trailing Stop EA is good, if so, what are the settings for it to make 50 pips sl to each trade...thx

I hope the FGB programmers will develop a version with a better positions manager as soon as possible.

you can download the trade protector 1.2 ea from here:
https://codebase.mql4.com/6057
i am using this settings:

log >> 0
initialsl >> 500
trailingstop >> 5000 (set it large in order not to trail)
threshold >> 5000

the others are default

these settings are for 5 digit broker... for 4 digit brokers divide by 10

yes I'm using the trade protector too, but this is just a disaster protection, take the sl after a failure of the vps is not a so good thing.
An integrated position manager would be the best
