@TheFrenchFrog

I see right now that you have only 4 orders open although the price has jumped over 1.55

Have you set any max orders or you stopped the EA ? My account has 8 open orders with a nice DD and this is the first time after 2 months of using Grid to go so deep.

Thank you

I have just started testing this EA (basic version) on my Alpari demo account and also currently have 8 orders open with a large DD. The next pending order is a semi-Martingale.

Is this normal?

Yes it is. I've already reached max orders and I do not understand what the heck is GBPUSD doing ..... It has recovered from yesterday's low ~ 300 pips no matter the NFP which was really positive for USD ....

Is anyone else sitting at -1800 pips with 11 (max) open orders? yikes (real money account)!
Why can't this system simply exit losing trades with small S/L. Does it always depend on riding long, possibly deep, DD's?

Well I now have 10 orders open, but am back to break-even, phew! (Only demo acct.) Being totally new to this EA it will be interesting to see how it closes them, which may be on Monday I guess.
Also, I see myfxbook has not been updating for the last 2 hours.

It closed all for a profit in the end, not a nice ride to get there though!

GPBUSD will probably retrace, so you will probably be OK (that why grids prefer it)

But to avoid a Sell ~1.2 GBPUSD.. escalating your worry

I'd

(1) switch-off the EA.
(2) wait for GBPUSD to retrace
(3) switch the EA back on (when drawdown is less painful)

For the future, maybe half your start volume, and see whether you feel comfortable..

Ultimately EA volume must be comfortable (ie when one feels most objective and can sleep well at night), plus a slight edge of risk..

Hope it comes good for you

Best

Yesterday was an interesting day on the operation of GridMeUpFX and the outbreak of the martingale.

My account is in a critical situation but it makes sense because I take a lot of risk.
I only had 4 trades open because I have not enough margin available trading these lot sizes.

My other live accounts:
FxPro : I did not have to trade on Friday afternoon.
Alpari UK : up to 10 simultaneous open trades (DD 1183 pips !!) with one end in the late afternoon. On this comtpe, I lost pips finally but made money because the last 2 open trades of the 10 had a double batch size every time.

Compared to my Pepperstone account with the publisher here
https://www.myfxbook.com/members/odrisb/gridmeupfx-2011/107990
, I certainly less pips but retraper to the editor the advantage of having larger lots on the last trades will open and close by losing pips while earning money.

The following Sunday, I may be closed manually trades.

Very high risk DO NOT do the same thing as me, keep lot size to 0.01 below 10 000 $ !!!

I went live with GMU Enhanced a few days ago it seems at the worst possible time. I've had 17 Sell trades and 1 Buy trade.

Can someone explain the strategy to me? Why does it keep setting sell orders on an upward trend rather than buy orders? If it had been setting buy orders it would have made money rather than be in a deep critical DD now.
