Well... I guess it is probably my fault if it looks that way because i don't want to simply show a custom analysis showing only from the beginning of November until now. That way it would look more successful and show only green stats everywhere.

But instead i chose to also show all my experiments and failure i had before that time with other EA for everyone to see the road taken before my system finally works as it is now. So that is why it appears so bad.

So no, i don't do money laundering.😁 And no, if you look from November, my strategy is obviously not losing.😀

I admit gladly that i lost money at first while experimenting and perfecting it and i never hid it. But it was the price to pay to learn and now i am slowly gaining it back.

Hi Phoenix48, I see you've started the account a bit over 6 months ago but I don't see any positive results yet.

Do you have any conclusions regarding the use of EA's? Have you found a profitable combination?

I see you're using practically every commercial EA out there, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that none of these commercial EA's work in the long term.

Yes, some get positive results in the long run, but they are very few compared to all the EA i tried. Either they simply don't resist a live test or they perform ok for a while but can't maintain performance when the market change. I even got at least two that don't lose any money BUT don't win either in the long run so what's the point of running them? None. FedoraFX that i just removed was one of those. No money made or lost in 6 months time. It's not a lost of money but it is surely a lost of time.

The few that performs well (of those i tested, of course) are in my list, except for FX Equity Builder... I keep it simply because i am stuck in some losing trades with it that i can't close right now but as soon as i will be able to remove it, i will.

Another point of mention: For most scalpers in my list, i don't trade all the pairs they can do and not all the strategies either, it would not be profitable. For example: DragonPips is supposed to trade at least 3 pairs and have 4 strategy for each pair but the only way i found it to be profitable in the long run is by using it with GBP/USD with strategy 3 only. i have similar limitations to be profitable in the long run with Faptubo49 (EUR/CHF and USD/CHF only but i am thinking of keeping USD/CHF only...) and MegaDroid Pro (EUR/USD agressive TRUE, EUR/CHF agressive FALSE and USD/CHF agressive FALSE only).

Also, please remember that i am using FxOpen so maybe someone using a different broker would get different results and need different settings.

I see.

I don't think using another broker is enough to make a profitable EA into a losing one - if it does, then the EA must be taking advantage of some exploit found in one broker.

Do you have a goal with this experiment? Are you looking for the holy grail?

My goal was at first to test and get rid of the ones obviously not working in the long run... and even the less obvious ones. And then find a good combination of the ones truly working.

As for the holy grail, it depends on what meaning you put in it. If you mean getting rich and doubling my money every couple of months then no, it's not my goal. If you mean simply having a reliable combination able to get me between even just 1% to 15% each month then yes, it is my goal and i would be happy with just that.

Hi Phoenix48, thanks for posting up your EA experiments. I tried to use the custom analysis to filter the chart by EAs(magic number) but the overall account balance line scales the EA chart lines to flattish lines. Is there a way to view the EA's without the overall account balance line?

Or perhaps if you could, by default sort by magic number for the primary chart? (I've just starting using myfxbook myself and am figuring out this. lol)

Hi Phoenix48,

Thanks for sharing timeframe and symbol.
I like the idea of EA diversification on one MT4, i work on a setup like yours and try to help enhancing it further and share my experience.

Since 2 november your balance curve looks good and when looking at the open trades since 2 november there is a pretty high negative floating amount. It would be great if this growing floating amount could be reduced.

Personally i like EA's that don't keep negative trades open too long. Have you already analized which EA's have the smallest overall floating ? Maybe you can make the total performance better by removing EAs that are responsible for the biggest floating.

Hello CycleTrader,

Yes it is true that my negative floating amount is rather high. There are 2 things that cause this:

1- RoboMiner: Because RoboMiner is a grid trading EA, it is normal to have some drawdown at times and because i trade 2 pairs with it it is even more expected and i have to accept it or simply not use it at all. But i choose to try it and so far it is acceptable to me.

2- FX Equity Builder: Like i said a few posts back, i am still stuck in some trade opened by it and i am still also waiting for them to come back up before closing them and that shows a lot in my drawdown. Honestly, i am eager for that time to come to close them all and get rid of that EA. So my recommendation is for you to not even bother with that EA except for just testing to satisfy your curiosity.

Other than that, there is not really another EA that i use that is causing drawdown for too long because they are all Scalpers except Naminori Bill that usually keep open his trade for around a week. But that is very reasonnable if you consider the way it trade so no real problem there.

So in brief, if you don't want any big drawdown i recommend you to simply not use the first 2 and all should be alright.
