If any one wants optimized set for last one year data on EURUSD and 2 years data on GBPUSD, then I can provide.
Hello the supremeforex,
Can you do nzd & aud on large period of backdata since over past year on myfxbook those are the 2 best performers live (1min, like Dukascopy or forextester.com's fxite or fhdb [forexhistorydatabase.com]) ??
Doug says he's not into that, seems if he does do it its on shorter periods as he seems to suggest in an email response to me, and maybe that makes sense based on matrix style walk-forward optimizing routines where optimum periods to re-optimize can be found. But longish period overall general performance ought to show something........like maybe it won't crash at any past date.
Thanks if you can help.
Hi,
All 4 pairs are optimized for 2 years live data on True ECN live account with IC Markets. Past performance is not guarantee for time to come! I am sure it will not crash any time provided your risk setting is low 1%. Generally optimization should be done on recent data only every month for better performance. Let me know if you need more clarification.

Thanks TSF. Could you please share the optimization setting and results?

Doug - how often do you optimise your SET files? I guess you wait until you see more losses than wins?

Thanks

Yes. I am trying for other pairs but profit is lower as compared to given 4 pairs. I will PM set files of other pairs EY, EG, XU for using one year data.
I tried to lower the stochastic slowing from 9 to 5 to get more signals, do you think it is good?

Hi,
I do not think to change that parameters at this moment as EA is profitable. You can try different parameters, then you need to optimize set file for that changed parameters and try on demo account to see if it meets your profit objectives.

Hi supremeforex,

Since this EA is painfully slow to backtest with, are there any other software that can backtest this ea?
Also how do I download tick data from my broker? Since every broker spread is different?
I'm new to forex please help.

Looks as if the EA performs ok under the vendors settings. So you change that? What are the stoc settings?

Another thing is , if you can access the full code then you could get it programmed for a decent charting platform and test if much quicker, plus the bonus of a more professional platform like tradestation, trade navigator etc you can forward test which is same as using in a live market, so your results are more indicative of live trading unlike back testing where the math has completed and is far less accurate. Back testing is really a joke.

this EA is no any trading in my account with Ver 2.5 since 20 Dec.

but the REV account showed open trade on NZD.

And according to the updated information on V2.5, Trades will close on Friday 30 minutes before market close, if any are open.

So REV account didn't use the latest version.

after they grow the profit aggressive, Now they reduce the profit target, this is not good news for new client. profit for the recent month is very so so.

Hello @craneliu ,

my version is 2.5 and has 1 NZD open position.

it is not true?
I use default setting,
CloseBeforeFridayMarketClosed=true
FridayCloseMinutesBefore=30

You could decide to turn on or off this parameter.
I believe the vendor's Friday setting is false.

Someone here was disappointed of not much trading currently (couldn't find who that was), talking with Doug via email he acknowledged me about the holidays is quite the consolidation quiet period in fx markets, so, 'not to be concerned'. :)
don't believe 99.9% of the EA e-ads out there my friends!

Anybody receive the email regarding the new update? If you confirmed your subscription via the link, have you received the update yet?

It depends on the broker you are using. I don´t have this position open, too - because of broker-holiday... ;)

My NZD trade that opened on Friday Dec 26 did not close on Fri . I have all default values with 'CloseBeforeMarketFridayClosed' set to true. It didn't close 30 min before closing. The position is still open at the opening today. The vendor's account shows that NZD was opened on Fri and closed 4 hr later. Did anyone else have the same problem

The vendor did not update the trade on MyFxbook after the market closed on Friday, so the NZDUSD trade appeared to be still open, actually it was closed 30 minutes before the market closed.

The vendor shuts down the server over the weekend, so if you try to initialize the EA, it won't work until Sunday 5 pm EST. I wrote to the vendor before and he confirmed this.

If you trade FX regularly, you should not open trades during Xmas or important holidays like this, you are asking for trouble.

I shut down all EAs and shut down all live accounts on 22nd, so I avoided the losing NZDUSD trade. Not only REV but all other EAs, including manual trades.

I will also avoid Jan 2 live trading. During these major holidays the market is not liquid and subject to manipulation.

Just my 2 cent's view.
