Hi Doug, since last week till now, u have total 3 NZD and 3 AUD trades as of today. But why your closed trades only reflect 3 AUD and 1 NZD? Where is the other 2 NZD trades? Why it can disappear? My last view is losing trades. Please advice

Relax guys...the developers 3 NZD trades have closed (2 in good PROFIT!!!). Please refer to https://www.fxblue.com/users/rev-trader-pro-live/statement?sort=closetime-

I would say Myfxbook has not updated the trade history given the public holiday closure.

I actually feel a bit better seeing that fxblue record. I'd withhold judgement a bit. But in my experience updating at myfxbook is usually very quick. Strange...

Doug does deserve the benefit of the doubt (on a short leash) in a field where very few do. My experience with this EA though brief is actually profitable and he is pretty unique in continuing to support his product with updates and tweaks. Hope he continues with that. Nevertheless, getting burned by an ea scammer is not exactly an uncommon experience.

The trades were not removed. They actually closed in a healthy profit I wouldn't want to hide that :) . I'm not sure why it's not showing up. I will try to see if myfxbook support can fix it, or maybe it's delayed not sure.

Have been using myfxbook.com for many years, very strong for this abnormal display to happen.
please check with myfxbook support to find out the reason soon.

and As Doug mentioned that they had the 3 NZD USD trades. attached is the record from Fxblue. please believe this EA performance.

Yes please refer to FX blue statement for now. Not sure why the trades aren't showing for NZDUSD I asked Myfxbook to repair the issue.

My record was different because my executions were different. I think the NZD trade currently showing on myfxbook is something altogether different, a trade from last friday that closed at end of week. But then there was another NZD trade opening this week. For some reason, my account got me into it earlier than doug's account at at a level somewhat (8 or so pips) more favorable. So in the subsequent drop, the initial trail-stop got triggered in my account and I was stopped out on that at a loss of 5 pips (8 with slippage). Doug never trail-stopped out, so kept adding for a total of 3 positions. I got into another NZD short as a de-novo trade at a level better than the best of doug's in the series. However, when I had a nice profit on the whole bunch (4% or so on a $16K account) I took an elective exit, noting we were coming into the New Year's Holiday (much like a weekend trade), and will stay disabled until next week, when I imagine da boyz will be back from da hamptons to their bank trading desks for the new year. Still I'm quite curious to see where those NZD trades came out for y'all. Notably, I'm taking the suggestion of a prior poster raising risk for AUD to 7%. NZD to 5% risk. while de-risking EUR to 2% and not running GBP at all, in line with prior performance of the ea.

Generally, my trades at tallinex (in their ecn pro account) closely track what doug gets, but there are some notable differences. And differences in execution can affect the trade path for better or worse. Nevertheless, I'm quite happy, in general with what this ea is doing. Clearly not a trade copier.

Synergy would be nice if they actually dealt with americans. FX Choice I had used some time back but grew very weary of their commission schedule which could get exorbitant. It was 6/100K like tallinex, but was calculated in the trade currency, so with a GBP trade could even be 50% higher than that in $ terms. With Tallinex, FinFx it's $6 no matter the currency pair. I guess if I ever get to the point where I'm trading for a living, fleeing the USA so I'd have a free choice of broker would become attractive. They base it on residence, not nationality, though with FATCA maybe that will change also... I've been evicted from so many good brokers because I live in 'the land of the free'. Our delightful government at work.

Haven't used that myfxbook account in forever. I'd forgotten about it! Also, I'm not just trading revtraderpro, but occasionally take on harmonic pattern manual trades (H4 chart) as well.

Well aicohn, if you're so inclined to hookup so both are separately magic# showing then we can use the evaluate feature to see separately such as REV by itself.......if so inclined someday, up to you. Currently I love following gwindy, never seen such EA greatness for the 'little guy' (just hope he's not part of the REV Co. Clan, as him and overall picture is getting me closer to considerations to buy).

Gwindy has had quite a run. As much as I thought I had the risk turned up on AUDUSD though, looks like he's running 50% bigger for his account size!

AUDUSD has a huge SL in revtrader, but historically, it's been by far the safest currency to trade with this ea.

Just hope for both our sakes this mean reversion stuff doesn't apply to relative performance on the currency pairs.

Thanks for info aicohn,
What does 'reversion stuff' mean? Are you talking about retracements? Which I'm to get from some of the conversation here is that REV is retracement leading to a short only?
This is why I'm vacillating back 'n forth to desiring backtest on 1min resolution with Dukascopy, forextester or fhdb 11-12yrs data using the REV's 1hr TF. It would show whether this strategy is basically sound over most all times......or.....bring on the walk-forward tester which works with mt4 and thereupon would show if Optimizing at certain periods is viable or not. That is a valid project (despite some here vehemently disliking, teehee) if anyone is into that sort of thing. I've come across those who do that sort of thing. I might want to do myself, but not sure I could complete the project in the 60day guarantee period.

I wonder how it is that other prior retracement type strategies/EA's haven't been as successful, why would this one suddenly crop up as the 'goose that lays the golden eggs' unique bonanza? Someone here noticed its retracement after 3 4hr up bars? Combine that with consolidation prior to it? Hmmm.

Well, look at what it's doing. I guess you are limited in that regard if you don't own a copy. Trade direction seems keyed off a moving average. When it's down and a currency pair gaps the other way, it takes short trades. It uses a couple other indicators as filters, however (high-low, stochs). I call it a 'mean reversion' sort of trade because that's what it seems to be doing, though I don't know that for a fact. Doug, I hope I'm not revealing some sort of trade secret here. As far as its success, doug seems pretty active at optimizing it. I think the secret is in the set files he provides and I really hope he keeps up with that. Otherwise, I'm convinced this will become as ineffective as the rest on the junk heap over time.

Backtesting is problematic. And I'm not sure it would be productive given the change in set files and parameters even over a relatively short time span. I don't think you've really thought through that issue. Other eas I've played with have had, for example, parameters that work during periods of increasing volatility and others working for periods of decreasing volatility. It's extremely hard for any ea to come up with a set of canonical parameters for all markets. And backtesting this thing on a practical level is impossible. I've tried even based on regular MT data. I've walked away for hours to come back & find the backtest hasn't done anything. My suggestion would be to buy it & put it on a demo account for a couple months at a broker (e.g., finfx, tallinex) where the demo is same as real (slippage will still vary). But the secret to the success is the set files. And those are a changing...

I find pairing such a strategy with a reliable manual one that basically makes a judgement about when a trend is likely to exhaust itself and reverse (e.g., harmonics) a nice complement to that. One (revtrader) based on a return to the trend, the other (harmonic patterns) based on an exhausted trend. My work with harmonics has a pretty small impact on available margin for revtrader at least on an H4 chart with 1% balance risk, and when those moves work out I'm getting in very early with something that sometimes runs for hundreds of pips.

I'm reasonably sure it doesn't use signal copy. I had one of the 3 NZDUSD trades in my account and at a level 5 pips more favorable than the account shown (I also had one NZDUSD trade closed the prior day in a trailing stop because I got in, for some reason again at a more favorable level than this account). I took a manual closure of all positions, the 3 AUDUSD and the single NZDUSD one at gains because we were coming into the holiday & didn't want to risk them going to a loss and being closed.

As I say, I'm certain this isn't using a trade copy. My trades resemble the ones in the account shown, but they don't play out exactly the same. Still, this account showed 3 NZDUSD short trades that simply disappeared. Not shown as closed, not still open. Like they never existed. Very very strange.

REV Trader Pro,

how do you explain these abnormal open/close trades on NZDUSD? Did you hide these trade or you manually removed these trades from trading record?

Hello!
when these 3*NZDUSD trades were closed, I was watching it as I was comparing my trades with vendor's trades , it happened to my account too, but after some time I see these trades appeared as closed in loss in my account @ price 0.77990, (it is not stopped out but closed) whereas I see immediately to vendor's account and it did not appeared as closed. There may be some function when the price reaches the low level of the channel then it gets closed. This is strange in my account.
