Time will show results. And as far i can see they are good.
If there is a big loss some day with this ea or others : it depends on your entry point.
It can catch anybody at any time with or without ea.
If having profit before loss may be acceptable, if not having profit before it may blow your account.

Therefore : choose risk level carefully. Make sure you can survive 800 - 1000 PIPS down or up (means couple of big losses IF wrong direction, but this ea seems to have a good entry).
This is the rule for ALL ea and manual trading and some vendors honestly describe this in their manual: big account , small positions if you want safely survive with low profit. Low account big risk : big profit and fast blowing up. This would be greed and this is not trading but gambling.

Right now sphantom BUYS :shocking: All my other ea do SELLs on same level. This might be related to different models / timeframes. I guess most ea think ofvery short time profits even when running on H1. sphantom could have a midterm component for that a draw down ist o.k.

ok guys... if you are so good traders... why are you using an EA if you know what the trend is?
oh... what??? trades closed in profit... again!!! and not in the trend!!! ooohhh... bad sPhantom I got additional profits ;)

I emailed them that exact same question. Why take a long position so soon after the tapering announcement. Their response, which I guess I can understand, is that they provide technical help for the EA, but does not discuss the strategy. Looks like a retracement strategy to me.

@sPhantom Your emails arrived after I had posted the post and before I posted the second post, which is why I posted about the maximised window. This solution was recommended in your email and it worked, so I posted it here so it may help someone else without the need to contact support. It is a simple solution, but drove me crazy trying to fix something that was such a simple thing to check and change. Most, if not all new mt4 installations default to a set of 4 tiled windows, so there is a fair chance that a new install will always have this problem unless the user changes the default layout.

Is it a problem with the mt4 platform or the ea?

Yes, you did answer within 24hrs as you have mentioned in your post. In fact your replies and positive feedback and attitude on here is one of the reasons I grabbed this EA.

I look forward to your future great trading results.

@husar2003 I could not see an 'always maximize this window' setting or whatever it may be, but it is ok, as I have no problem making sure this window is always maximised now that I know.

Thanks

Dear @BenM

We will add this note to the manual in the next update.

I appreciate your support.

My account is going down, it seems that I am not catching the profitable trades, only the bad ones get opened. I contacted Sphantom and they replied

'These situations are normal and are because of difference between brokers tick data.
In some brokers the yesterday position touched the TP while in our account it was on +9.8 pips.
Please notice that we can't do anything about it but you can be sure that we always manage open orders.'

I have a VPS and I am using IBFX in the US, is anybody experiencing the same issues? Does anybody have a good broker thats catching all the trades?

Hi @borncorp.
I sent you a message on your myfxbook page. It seems your EA is not opening the second trade when it needs to be. I will message you with a broker recommendation. If you go to: sphantom-Anubis2, you can follow my account which has been very close to the vendors.

Yeah, I see your account is working fine. I see you are using Traders Way, does that work for US accounts?

Borncorp you have to use 10% risk otherwise the second trade will not open. I use IBFX US as well it's 1:50 leverage by law in the US that's what all trusted brokers leverage. You can get a micro account that's 1:200 leverage that will allow you to risk a high percent.

Trusted US brokers?? Go abroad and get a real broker. FinFx (Finland) has 200:1 with 300:1 if you ask for it. Traders Way (Dominica) has 500:1 up to 5 grand and 200:1 after that. ForexFS (Australia) has 300:1. They all take US clients. I've traded with all of them. As an Amerikan, I decided to start an offshore entity for a nonUS presence to access XM Markets for 888:1 up to 20,000 USD. It is such bullshit that an asshole like Barney Frank (Dodd-Frank) has to 'protect' us at 50:1 while the vampire squid banks get to leverage their derivative exposure at 5000:1. What a joke of a country we are. FinFx is probably one of the best brokers out there for Amerikans. Accounts are segregated and audited.

I can recomment Armada Markets. They work closely together with FinFX.

Hello crew,

I assume that like some others who are following this post, I've never had a EA running and wanted to jump in to start 2014 with this one. This is what I've done today (in this order) for the one's who are looking for a process to follow :

1. I've subscribed to sPhantom license. Note that some promotional links found by Googling gives a 10% rebate ;)

2. I've opened a Standard account with XM Markets (xm.com) and used a leverage of 1:500 (I'm not sure about the leverage but can't figure out where to see what I've put, I'll ask support to confirm but I'm pretty sure they didn't offer 1:400, only 1:200 and below, 1:500 and 1:888). The registration process went very fast (less than 2 hours I was activated by providing the right documents (drivers license and bank statement showing your address), it went pretty quick by asking them to activate gently spped up via their Live Chat.

3. I've set up a VPS server with BeeksFX (though the XM panel). It cost 28$ a month or free if your balance is above 5000$. I've started with 500$ (+150$ bonus) to test the water but if things goes well I'll raise it up so it doesn't seem expensive vsé monthly potential profits.

4. I've immediately opened a ticket on BeeksFX website asking them to install sPhantom by giving them the zip link.

5. I've followed the sPhantom instruction to activate the account.

6. I've logged in my new VPS with Microsoft Remote Desktop (pretty easy), I've completed the setup by following XM Markets & sPhantom instructions.

And voilà! I'm ready to go.

Now I need advises on whether I should keep a leverage that high (I see thant myfxbook sPhantom's Profile shows 1:400) or should I diminish it?

Also considering I'm only playing with 650$ to test it out, I wonder if those settings are appropriate for me :

RISK_PERCENT : 10
USE_FIXED_LOT_SIZE : FALSE
MAX_SPREAD : 4.5
HIDE_SL_TP : FALSE
BUY_ALLOWED : TRUE
SELL_ALLOWED : TRUE

Hope my little steps help some starters out there. Any help in return about setup will be greatly appreciated.

Happy New Forex Year! ;)
