Craneliu,
I think you have misunderstood.

My MT4s were not frozen, unresponding or else. They were completely not running ie. all turned off, thereby hinting at a hardware issue rather then EA/Software/broker.

Cant think of anything else.
Anyway, I think I am happy to think it was VPS or memory size related, changing VPS provider, increasing memory and will see what happens.

This will be a good test to see how Tom's copes with such problems, expecially on my Demo where all pairs are running @ RL3

Unfortunately the EUR/JPY pair has absolutely shredded the profitability of this EA for me personally. As I was advised to delete all pairs except for EUR/USD and GBP/USD over Xmas, I had 4 EUR/JPY trades open, which have spiralled out of control. Two of these trades hit their 600 pip limit and closed for -$160.19 and -$155.92 losses respectively.

I am letting the other two run at present, they are currently at -407 and -507 pips for a current DD of $794 and $462 respectively. Looking at the strategies this pair has absolutely tanked and done some severe damage to the EA's profitability over time. I will no longer trade this pair moving forward, and will instead concentrate my trades on EUR/USD and GBP/USD hoping for a better return.

When I was testing TEA, i made a note of the nastiness the EURJPY pair displayed for me. It required some amount of market analysis to determine how to kill it before I got burned badly. I suggest to keep your eye on the EURUSD. i am anticipating a move down to 1.2600 and then a possible significant bounce. Maybe EURJPY will be looking to bounce at that time also.
Make losses, but always come out a winner at the end.

I am in $25K of DD on demo with $22K of that from the EURJPY.

   hi Dustin,

when the new EA will be updated? Holiday season will be closed by 9 Jan 2012. should we wait for the update EA or we should continue using the existing EA for the live account?

thanks for the suggestion!

I would also like to know at least an approximate of when the next version of the EA will be out?

Thanks

Hi all, some thoughts

- I think I have discovered why I was only showing 1 x 0.4 EURJPY trade in my previous post. I have posted too hastely! The other two positions had already hit their 600 pip stop before my posting (see attachment). With all my VPS problems it was all a bit confusing :-)

- I agree with Fughe, EUR pairs are very oversold on many counts, I cant see much more short term downside, 'Merkozy' will come to the rescue somehow ;-)

- On my Demo, as mentioned above, 3 of my EURJPY positions have hit stoploss with a substantial loss. This, however, has only shaved off a couple of % points from my overall profits and now my DD is around 25% of account size. Still higher than ideal but I am running 8 pairs all at level 3 for a total RL of 24, 3 x times the recommended level (I use it as a guide to worst case scenario)

- On my Live accounts things are manageable and actually my biggest DD is not EURJPY but EURGBP. Both accounts are showing a combined DD of less than 10%.

- I am going to say that, for me, the biggest problem with running this EA is the total lack of customer service. I am overall happy with the performance. There is no Holy Grail and I truly believe that, with a bit of monitoring and some future improvements, this is a winning EA.
What I cannot understand is how clients are systematically ignored. I do not understand why? It does not seem to matter what the medium is; this forum, the members area, email, whatever. Just ignored. I would have thought that with the money that are being charged for this EA, Global Profits could afford to pay for the set up a 24/7 email/chat line manned by a couple of people with in depth knowledge on the workings of the EA and enough authority to give friendly and efficient advice. You probably dont even need to pay them, just give them free use of the EA and they will probably be more than willing ;-)
Even if the developers are now living permanently in the Maldives, swimming, diving and eating tropical fruits ;-) surely there is WIFI there somewhere where to answer some of the questions from the people who put them there!
There are guys around using this EA with 100k+ capital that are asking questions and...being ignored.
Both this forum and the members area are developing into a 'blind leading the blind' situation where a lot of guesswork is taking place. This surely, is not good for GP business or Dustin reputation moving forward.
When I email any of the other EA providers I have never (I repeat NEVER) waited more than a coule of hours for a satisfactory, problem-solving reply. And these guys are charging a fraction of Tom's EA.
It does not seem to make much sense to me, I just dont get the business model.

For this reason, and this reason only, I have been reluctant to recommend this EA on several occasions.

Anyone else with a similar/different view?

Hey tradingshed,

Do you still have EURGBP trades open from November 22?

Also, I didn't get a reply yet from support either so I guess the hammocks are too comfortable in the Maldives possibly....

I am having my support team look at your support thread within our ticket system to see if they have missed anything regarding answering your issues. We have a 24hour policy outside of the weekends and this is enforced so I looking into why you seem to be getting poor service. I would like to know what issue has gone unresolved at this point. To my knowledge your only issue was explained some time ago on here and it was the fact that your server went down. I will reply with additional information later today. The members forum is moderated daily and tickets are answered within 24 hours by our paid and trained support stafff.

Acc1 - 48 trades open - (+)13.94% Closed Trades and (-)29% Open Trades (face value).
Acc2 (now closed as that demo shut down) - 26 Open Trades - (+)10.78% Closed Trades (-)2.6% Open Trades (face value)
Acc3 - 40 Open Trades - (+)10% Closed Trades (-)14% Open Trades (face value)
no loss of connection since 1st week Nov (thought I'd better get in there before someone else offers it as a reason)

FYI of those following my live account. I have removed the USDCAD pair today as it had just closed out a sell basket of trades and had only minimal open draw-down on 2 open trades. I plan on doing this to the other 3 pairs as well, when the EA closes out the majority or their trades. The reason is I will be moving to another broker, as Alpari UK only allows a total of 2.0 lots of you base currency to be open at any one time on a micro account. As I would like to increase my account size (due to the profitability of this EA), I can easily see that Alpari UK limit hit. Even with a relatively small account size I have seen a total of 1.75 lots open.

I would have liked to wait for the next promised version of Toms EA, which promised a feature that would assist in this process. However I have not received a reply to my request for info on this forum or the members forum.

Flopps,
have you considered running multiple accounts rather than increasing the size of your existing one? That is what I am doing.

tradingshed.... to be honest I thought you could only run one license of Toms EA on one live account? Is this not the case?

Hi, tradingshed
I have traded Tom's EA live with tradency since Nov 12. I started slow with only EURUSD and risk level 1. Average monthly return around 3.5%. Although after new year, FXDD have to help me to sync with tradency again. I am very happy with how this EA and tradency performs. I also did quick backtest with MT4 tester with 1min data from Nov and Dec. I found out minimal $3000 for EURUSD pair and $1000 for other 5 major pairs when I set risk level to 3 with hedging. Hedging has high return and low drawdown.
have a safe trading

I believe you can run Tom's EA on multiple accounts as long as it is under the same email address and possibly the same PC (or VPS) I am running it on 2 live and 1 demo, all on the same VPS. Depending on the broker, you can have multiple accounts with the same broker (I can have up to 5 with mine).

Similarly to drsong, I found that I should be ok with a minimum of £4k account size with the way I trade. I have started with 5k, reached 7.3k and split the account in two £4k (added £700). I am now running 2 live 4k with the same broker rather than 1 x 8k account. Should (or when :-) I will reach 12k, I will create a 3rd 4k account. and so on (hopefully).
