Do forex spreads make a significant impact on the long term trading results?

You can calculate Yourself.
Let's say 0.5 pips per trade. Lets say You make 20 trades per day it takes You 10 pips of profit (!).
Long term results?
10 pips daily * 5 days a week = 50 pips / week
lets say 50 weeks in a year gives:
50 * 50 = 2500 pips in year!
Is it big or not, make answer Yourself :)
ow, and add a commision taken from every trade ;)

Spread – (if a deal is profitable) sharing your wealth; (if a deal is unprofitable) a malicious market maker who rips you off.

I woudn't say like that. Spread is something that You know from the start. That's why You cannot say that broker rip you off .
