Botswana GDP Growth Rate YoY

Being one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa over the last decade, Botswana is classified as a middle-income country.  Due to the fact that diamond extraction accounts for more than one-third of GDP, almost all export earnings, and half of the government's revenues, it is the primary driver of the country's rapid growth. Tourism, financial services, subsistence farming, and cattle husbandry are some of the other important industries. Trade, hotels, and restaurants account for the largest share of the economy in Botswana (24% of GDP), followed by financial and business services (17%), general government (15%), and mining (12%). Construction (9%), community, social, and personal service activities (8%), transport, storage, and communication (7%), manufacturing (7%), agriculture, hunting, and forestry (1%), and electricity, gas, and water supply are among the other sectors included.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the BWP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the BWP.
