Transportation within 20.65% of the total weight is the most significant component of Botswana's Consumer Price Index, followed by 16.51% accounting for food and non-alcoholic beverages, 14.9% goes to housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, 10.55% goes to other goods and services, 7.83% goes to alcoholic beverages and tobacco, 6.27% goes for clothing and footwear, and the remaining 23.9% accounts for furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance, education, restaurants and hotels, communication and health.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the BWP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the BWP.
