Canada Average Weekly Earnings YoY
Average weekly wages (including overtime) in Canada are calculated by dividing the gross taxable payroll (including overtime) by the number of employees. It is determined for all employees, regardless of their position. The structure of employment by industry, profession, and level of job experience, as well as the average number of hours, worked per week, all influence variations in weekly wages in general.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the CAD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the CAD.
