When it comes to sales of retail goods and services in Canada, the Retail sales report gives an aggregated measure of sales for a certain time period. Retail sales in Canada are seasonal, variable, and relatively significant to the country's overall economic output.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the CAD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the CAD.
