The services industry is the most important sector of the Chilean economy. 56% of the GDP goes to trade, restaurants, and hotels, transportation, communications, financial and commercial services, real estate. Miner output accounts for 13% of total output, with copper accounting for the largest share of that percentage. Manufacturing generates 12% of the nation's wealth, followed by construction and water, gas, and electricity distribution which generate 11%. The government accounts for 5% of total output, with the remaining 3% coming from the agriculture and fishing industries.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the CLP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the CLP.
