Consumption of food and non-alcoholic beverages is the most significant category in the consumer price index in Croatia (it accounts for 27.9% of total weight), followed by housing and utilities (16.2%), transportation (12.6%), miscellaneous goods and services (7.5%), clothing and footwear (6.5%), and recreation and culture (6%). The remaining 23.3% of the total weight is divided among the following industries: communication, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco, furniture, household goods and maintenance, restaurant and hotels, health and education.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the HRK while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the HRK.
