Hungary HALPIM Manufacturing PMI
The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index in Hungary, developed by the HALPIM (Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing, and Inventory Management), is based on a survey of corporate purchasing managers in manufacturing businesses. The index is used to assess the performance of the manufacturing sector. There are five individual indexes that make up the Index, with the following weights: New Orders (30%), Production (25%), Employment (20%), Supplier Delivery Times (15%), and Inventories (10%). A value above 50 indicates that the manufacturing sector has increased in comparison to the previous month, a rating below 50 indicates that the manufacturing sector has declined, and a value of 50 shows that there has been no change.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the HUF while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the HUF.
