Due to the fact that NFI represents the difference between two major gross flows, its magnitude varies significantly from quarter to quarter. The result can lead to significant differences in the growth rates of GDP and GNP for the same quarter.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

Eurozone GDP Growth Slows In Q2
Euro area economic growth rate for the second quarter was revised down as the positive contributions from government consumption and net trade were partially offset by the slump in investment.
