Food and non-alcoholic beverages (which account for 34% of the total weight), housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (18%), and clothing and footwear (12%) are the primary components of the consumer price index in Kazakhstan. As of 1995, the national index has a 100-point starting point. According to the Consumer Price Index, prices and spending patterns in the 14 regional capitals and 27 significant cities are reflected.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the KZT while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the KZT.
