Housing accounts for 33.2% of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Kuwait, followed by food and beverages (16.7%), furnishing and household equipment (11.4%), clothing and footwear (8%), and transport (7.5%). Miscellaneous products and services account for 5.8%of the index, as does education (4.2%), communication (4%), recreation and culture (3.9%), restaurants and hotels (3.4%), health (1.5%), and tobacco (0.3%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the KWD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the KWD.
