Lebanon's consumer price index is dominated by housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (28.5% of the total weight), food and non-alcoholic beverage (20.6%), and transport (13.1%) as the most important categories. Health (7.8%), education (5.9%), clothing and footwear (5.4%), and communication (4.6%) are all included in the index. The remaining 14% of the total weight is made up of furnishings, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, amusement and cultural activities, hotels, restaurants, and other goods and services.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the LBP while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the LBP.
