Mauritius Balance of Trade
Sugar and textiles are the two main exports from Mauritius. The absence of natural resources, however, means that Mauritius is reliant on imported fuel to meet its energy needs. French exports and imports account for 17% of total exports and 9% of total imports from Mauritius. South Africa and Spain are among the other countries.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the MUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the MUR.
