The most important imports into the Netherlands are gas (which accounts for 29% of overall imports), machinery (which accounts for 26%), and food and live animals (which accounts for 8.6%). The most important trading partners are Germany (accounts for 24% of total exports and 17% of all imports) and Belgium (12% of exports and 10% imports). China, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States are among other major trading partners of the Netherlands.
