Nigeria Balance of Trade
The export of commodities (oil and natural gas) is the primary driver of Nigeria's growth, accounting for over 91% of the country's total exports. Europe and Asia were the country's most important trading partners in 2014. When it comes to total sales, Europe contributed 43% of total sales and 34% of total imports, whereas Asia contributed 29% of total shipments and 43% of total purchases.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the NGN while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the NGN.
