Food and non-alcoholic beverages accounting for 35% of the total weight is the most important categories in the consumer price index in Pakistan, followed by housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuels (29%), apparel and footwear (8%), and transport (7%). Furnishings and domestic equipment (4%), education (4%), communication (3%), and health (2%) are other factors incorporated in the index. The remaining 8% is made up of the following categories: recreation and culture, restaurants and hotels, alcoholic beverages and cigarettes, as well as other goods and services
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the PKR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the PKR.
