Paraguay Balance of Trade
Agricultural commodities have seen a significant increase in exports from Paraguay during the last few years. 58% of overall exports are made up of soy, beef, and cereals. Machinery, appliances, and motors (30% of total imports), fuels and lubricants (12%), and chemicals (9%) are the main imports in the country. Brazil accounting for 32% of total exports and 21% of imports and Argentina accounting for 23% of exports and 9% of imports are the two most important commercial partners. China and the United States are other important commercial partners.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the PYG while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the PYG.
