Portugal Industrial Production MoM
Industrial production refers to the output produced by enterprises that are part of Portugal's industrial sector. The most important industry in the country is manufacturing, accounting for 93.9% of total production. Food products (13% of total production), coke, refined petroleum products, and fuels (10%), motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (9%), metal products, except machinery and equipment (7%), chemicals, and synthetic or artificial fibers, except pharmaceuticals (5%), rubber and plastic products (5%), and paper products (5%) are the most important segments within manufacturing. The supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning accounts for 5% of total output, while sewerage and waste management accounts for 1%.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.
