Portugal Industrial Production YoY
Industrial production refers to the output produced by enterprises that are part of Portugal's industrial sector. The most important industry in the country is manufacturing, accounting for 93.9% of total production. Food products (13% of total production), coke, refined petroleum products, and fuels (10%), motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (9%), metal products, except machinery and equipment (7%), chemicals, and synthetic or artificial fibers, except pharmaceuticals (5%), rubber and plastic products (5%), and paper products (5%) are the most important segments within manufacturing. The supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning accounts for 5% of total output, while sewerage and waste management accounts for 1%.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

German Construction PMI Rises To 16-Month High
Germany's construction sector activity contracted at the slowest pace in 16 months in September, survey results from S&P Global showed on Friday. The construction Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 41.7 from 38.9 in the previous month. This was the highest since May 2023. However, the score remained below 50.0, indicating contraction.

Eurozone Private Sector Contracts For First Time In 7 Months
The euro area private sector shrank for the first time in seven months in September as Germany, France and Italy recorded contractions simultaneously for the first time in 2024 so far, data compiled by S&P Global showed on Thursday. Eurozone Inflation Falls Below 2% Target
Eurozone inflation fell below the 2 percent target for the first time in more than three years in September, signaling faster interest rate cuts from the European Central Bank.
