Consumer price increases for a basket of products are tracked by the core inflation rate in Singapore, which excludes changes in the price of automobiles and lodging, which are primarily influenced by government policy.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the SGD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the SGD.
