In recent years, Slovakia has had one of the most rapid economic growth rates in Europe. For the most part, foreign direct investment, particularly in the automotive and electronic sectors, was responsible for driving the expansion. Among the expenditure components of GDP, household consumption dominates, accounting for 57% of total usage, followed by gross fixed capital formation (21%) and government expenditure (19%). Currently, exports of goods and services account for 92% of GDP, with imports accounting for 88% of GDP and contributing 4% to overall GDP.
