South Africa Prime Overdraft Rate
The loan rate in South Africa is the prime overdraft rate offered by commercial banks. Banks utilize this rate to charge lending rates to clients that are either higher or lower than the benchmark rate, which is priced at 3.5 basis points above the buyback rate.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the ZAR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the ZAR.
