Sri Lanka Balance of Trade
Accounting for 40% of Sri Lanka's total exports goes mostly for textiles and apparel as well as for tea accounting for 17%. Spices, diamonds, coconut products, rubber, and fish are among the other items exported. The United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, and Italy are the primary export partners. Sri Lanka imports a variety of goods, including petroleum, textile fabrics, foodstuffs, machinery, and transport equipment. India, China, Iran, and Singapore are the top four import partners.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the LKR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the LKR.
