Sweden's principal exports include iron and steel products, paper goods, machinery, motor vehicles, pulp and wood, and chemicals. Machinery, petroleum and petroleum products, chemicals, motor vehicles, iron, and steel, as well as foodstuffs and clothing, are all imported into the country. Sweden's most important trading partner is the European Union accounting for around 61% of exports and 72% of imports in total. A significant influence is also played by countries such as Norway, Russia, the United States, and China.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the SEK while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the SEK.
