As a result, new orders are a leading predictor of growth in the Swedish economy, owing to their significant impact on business confidence. A monthly sample and register-based approach are used to monitor short-term changes in new orders and turnover in the industry, both overall and by industry, as well as changes in the local and international markets. The study is being conducted in conjunction with other economic-related surveys.

A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the SEK while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the SEK.
