Switzerland Consumer Confidence
Swiss consumers are polled on their level of confidence in four different months each year, in the months of January, April, July, and October. For the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, about 1000 households are polled about their subjective assessment of the economy, the financial situation of the household in query, inflation, job security, and other topics of interest. Overall, consumer confidence rises when the unemployment rate is low and the economy is growing at a rapid pace. Indicators of average consumer sentiment can be valuable in predicting how much money customers are going to spend in a given period of time.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the CHF while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the CHF.
