Taiwan Balance of Trade
During the past 40 years, Taiwan's rapid expansion has been fueled by the country's expanding international trade. Electronics, base metals, information, communication, and audio-video products, machinery plastics, and rubber are among the most popular export items from the country. Taiwan imports a large number of components for electronic devices, mineral products, and base metals, machinery, and chemicals. The principal trading partners are Mainland China and Hong Kong, the United States, Japan, Europe, and ASEAN countries.
