United States JOLTs Job Openings
As of the last business day of the month in the United States, job openings are defined as all positions that are open (and not filled). Job opportunities are included in the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS). It collects information from around 16400 nonfarm companies, including merchants and manufacturers, as well as federal, state, and municipal government agencies in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to the survey results. The unmet demand for labor in the United States labor market and gained prominence in 2014 as the Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's preferred labor market indicator and is measured by the JOLTS.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.

New York Manufacturing Index Unexpectedly Indicates Contraction In January
New York manufacturing activity unexpectedly declined in the month of January, according to a report released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York on Wednesday. The New York Fed said its general business conditions index tumbled to a negative 12.6 in January from a positive 2.1 in December, with a negative reading indicating contraction.
