United States Pending Home Sales YoY
The Pending Home Sales Index is calculated based on sales of existing properties where the contract has been signed but the transaction has not yet been completed. In order to calculate the index, a large national sample is used, which typically represents around 20% of all existing-home sales transactions. An index value of 100 corresponds to the average level of contract activity for the year 2001, which was the first year for which data was collected.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.
