United States Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index
In the Third Federal Reserve District, the Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index conducts a Business Outlook Survey of manufacturers around the region. Employment, working hours, new and unfilled orders, shipments, inventory, delivery timeframes, prices paid, and prices received are the indicators of the direction of change in overall business activity started by participants. The criterion is greater than zero when the factory sector is expanding, and lower than zero when the factory sector is declining.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.
